Custom sword for TFCon 2011 Stronghold! (Shapeways)
I went bonkers when I saw whom Stronghold was and I was hoping this would be an additional item to the TFCon 2011 exclusive.
Since it was not, I decided to make my own, and some people have hinted I should share it with others.

It will work on any other 5mm hand-hole toy, of course (and I think that's what the original Cerebros toy has, though I'm not sure).
I love Feedback! It's how I can improve!

Well, um, thanks! That'll be a new experience for me.
And I don't profit from it, I'm not sure it's good enough for that yet.

Re: Custom sword for TFCon 2011 Stronghold! (Shapeways)
"Frosted Ultra Detail" is a transparent material.
The reasons it is recommended over the others are:
-It can handle very fine details, up to 0.1mm, something no other Shapeways material does
-It's the closest material to actual plastics that Shapeways can print
-It takes to paint very well, though a primer is always recommended
-It also takes dye very well
-It is more resistant than the Detail Black material and has less chances of accidentally snapping parts off. While that can still happen, usually for collectors, it's only in the case of excessive force.

I think it would look good if it was clear red plastic for the blade and black plastic for the hilt. And if was around $10 I'd definitely buy it.

Sadly, Shapeways does not offer clear red plastic-like materials. They are all transparent, but can be dyed.
Making the hilt a separate part, though, is a good way to complicate the plumbing, at least, with my skill. I'll consider it, though.
I'm pretty sure it does come to about $10 of value, though

It is now. I did not include it since I'm not certain that the material will respect the minimum wall requirement for WSF. Plus, I personally prefer Ultra Detail as a material for its smoother finish. Even polished WSF is still grainy.

Re: Custom sword for TFCon 2011 Stronghold! (Shapeways)
so, in theory, you could paint the handle, and dye the blade in some sort of red stain type thing for an awesome result?
