How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

Now it is hard for me to buy the TF, gundam, anime goods in the regular price. Too many collection and too many stuffs that I want make me cut down the budgets on TFing and toys. But when the time is right, a sales is too good to be missed.
I wonder this happen to anybody, or what % sales will make you pull the trigger?

edited: I should change the title to How deep the discount will promote you to buy "toys" ?

Re: How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

no poll?

do you just mean percentage like 25% off or 40% off?

or do you include the BOGO 1/2 off or BOGO Free?

for me it kinda depends on the figures, if I don't like them I won't buy no matter how big the discount....

of course that means I'll need to get at least one in that line to determine that

Usually, if there's a figure that I'm on the fence about, I won't buy it unless I get a 25% rebate or if I can get in a BOGO deal (half or free).

Re: How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

Legend - $2
Scout - $5
Deluxe - $10
Voyager - $15
Ultra - $20
Leader - $25
Supreme - $30

Mini-con (individually packed) - $1
Mini-con (2, vs. pack) - $2
Mini-con Team (3, colour unified or team gimmick) - $4
Scout (plus personal Mini-con) - $7
Deluxe (plus personal Mini-con) - $12
Voyager (plus personal Mini-con) - $17
Ultra (plus personal Mini-con) - $22
Leader (plus personal Mini-con) - $27
Supreme (plus personal Mini-con) - $32

And of course each individual figure above would come with 2 tech spec cards. The first with a photo and bio on the back. The second with functional stats to be used in a CCG.

Titanium 3" - $1
Robot Heroes (individually packed) - $1
Robot Heroes (2, vs. pack) - $2
Activator - $3
Fast Action Battler - $4
Hero Alliance - $15

Let me add that this would be in Canadian funds, including shipping, duty, and all applicable taxes.

And yes, I know that this will never happen.

Anyways, prices are a bit weird now. We're paying around $15 to $17 CAN plus taxes at retail for a Deluxe scale figure, which is higher than what a Deluxe figure used to cost back in the Beast Wars days.

But then compare the size of a modern Deluxe to a Deluxe class figure back then. Modern Deluxes are closer to Mega or Voyager class figures back in the Beast Wars era. And those were of a comparable price.

The Deluxes back then are closer in size to the Scout figures we now have. And the Basics or Scouts from back then are Activators or Legends in size.

Because of the drift in size, its only an illusion that we're paying more.

Still, I'd much rather pay less.

Re: How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

Supreme Devastator would have to be less than $10 for me to finally cave in on that beast.

And some figures even i I still wouldn't buy them regardless of how cheap they were. If I'm not interested in them, a low price will do nothing to change my mind. I'd rather leave them for people/kids that would really enjoy them.

Cheers!

That's very true. I'm quite picky about which figures I add now. Outside of those, I don't think I'd pick any up. I'm past the stage of wanting to be a completionist.

Re: How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

TFs:
Scouts - $6-7, Deluxes - $12 or less, Voyagers - $20, Leaders - $40 or less (generally don't buy though)

3.75/4" toys - I don't mind buying at full price usually, it's only $10 for one normally anyways.

Imports from Japan (non-TF) - There are generally no sales on these, so I buy them at the cheapest order/preorder price.

It really depends on the toy. If I don't want it, I just don't want it, no matter the price.
