How deep the discount will promote you to buy?

I'm the same way. If it is something I am just not interested in, I'm not going to buy it regardless of the price.

Yah for me I think it really depends on the toys. If its something I really really want then I will get it around release date or else I will try to wait for a sale. This is mostly for retail (Hasbro) toys.

For Japanese toys I try to judge fan response and exclusitivity and also how badly I want it. I have missed deals and had to hunt down paying more for some toys while I have picked up some at close to retail and even discounted. So in the end it probably evens out.
