Universe/Henkei Prowl vs CW Prowl

I would go so far as to say classics was an update of the character while cw is a reimagining.

I'm not a fan of any of the cw stuff other than combined mode, legitimate g1 combiners.

Combiner wars prowl all the way!
I had the universe mold. It was badly painted. Had wierd stains in the paint job like it was assembled by a farmhand covered in dirt and the head was on a strange square redneck platform of a neck.
The new prowl has a beautiful head sculpt and a fairly nice neo classic car mode. Just need some repolabel touch ups to be spot on. (And I love the triple barrel shotgun!)

+1 for Classics still. He has to have his iconic door wings and shoulder launchers for my eyes to view him as the definitive Prowl. The only disappointing criticism I have for Classics/Henkei Prowl is that no matter what copy I seem to come across, the shade of white on this figure seems to always have a yellowing tinge to it that makes it look like it's been tarnished from an owner that happens to be a heavy chain smoker.

Does anyone know off offhand if Henkei Prowl has this same problem? I could never really tell in photos if Henkei Prowl was a cleaner white than Classics Prowl.

I bought CW Prowl because the white is ACTUALLY a pure white on him. I was hoping to live without the door wings and shoulder launchers and hoping that a 3rd party would eventually produce some upgrade kits to address that later on, but sadly he's too short in scale to fit in with most CHUGs.

I also bought CW Mirage in hopes of replacing Henkei Mirage because I always felt something about his CHUG proportions made him too thin and gangly....but even with that, I'm not entirely sold on this being his replacement either as neither head sculpt seems right to me, the spoiler needs to be bigger, and still no shoulder missile. :\

G1 Style = MP All the way anything else is a poor try

Classics G3 Style = CW Prowl but I would have liked it to have been a S.U.V IDW style Prowl but I can deal with this one.

My classics shelf is allowed to be a re-imagining of the Characters I know and love while MP is where I am a slave to G1 , as you wont find a better updated G1 rep of that Character that looks exactly like they did from the show. Classics is the redheaded step child that MP forgot

So does that make CW Prowl the redheaded little brother to Classics Prowl then?

no because in my opinion Classics Prowl's bot mode it shit and nothing more then that. The Alt mode is decent. CW Prowl it a good figure in both modes Alt and Bot in my opinion that is for my classics shelf. I have stated that classics in my display can look different then G1 as I have MP for the G1 look. I also prefer CW Ironhide over the garbage figure that Classics Ironhide is but this is all my personal opinion.

CW a good mold? He doesn't seem all that great besides the head sculpt nothing really exciting. He needs his canons not a shitty axe that was used numerous times

get masterpiece prowl because that one is perfect classics are always subpar no matter what figure even jazz even Wheeljack the best ones will always be the masterpiece line
