Not saying they won't, but I'll tell you a story anyways
I purchased three figures online recently off TRU's website
Figs were on sale, and I got three to bring the total to free shipping
The deluxe I wanted had been available three days prior, but I hadn't been paid yet
When I got paid, the one I wanted was out of stock
So I selected a different deluxe, figured would be cool with their new policy (returns/exchanges only allowed w/ receipt), seemed to me like this would be a straight-forward exchange with receipt
I went in with my receipt, after the flyer sale had ended (earliest opportunity I had to visit a store)
It was processed as a (return) followed by a (new purchase)
They refunded the sale price, and charged the full price, indicating I would need to pay the difference
They had the receipt right there, and I mentioned that I selected the "incorrect/undesired" deluxe during the sale with the perceived notion that I could process an exchange at a later date (within their date range) with a valid receipt
The cashier countered "you just did that so you could get free shipping though"
Anyways they wrote off the price difference, giving me side-eye the entire time
Your situation is different than this, and you may meet with success
Just know that I caught some shade for ordering stuff "just to get free shipping"
