GI JOE Gurus: a little help
Hey all. I've come across not one, but TWO [2] of these guys in my travels today:
Serpentor in a Tiny Box!
This particular picture is from some other mysterious person in my vicinity [not me], who also apparently has one for sale on eBay.
Some questions: Where's it from? I know it's Serpentor, I'm fairly certain it's the original release from in the box of the Air Chariot, but could it be from somewhere else [as unlikely as that is]?
Secondly, is it worth anywhere near what this guy is asking for it [80 bucks]? I'd like to think I had a little windfall here, and am patting myself on the back for not opening them both as originally planned, IF indeed they're worth somewhere near this. Even half that.
Where could these possibly be coming from? One from this eBay guy in Toronto, I find two at a second-hand shop... That's weird, right? Packaged, but NOT with the rest of the toy? How does that even happen?
And finally... anyone want one?

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
It looks like it is just the figure case for the inside of the vehical he came with.

So it is Kinda MISB, but only for the figure, not the whole package. Not really sure how rare it is cause really it is just serpentor on a generic blister pack.

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
If you've come across two examples in a single day, do you think he's really that rare?

That is sage advice.

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
I'm pretty sure thats the card they get put on when packaged with a vehicle. I think the asking price is a little high. If that price was for a MOC with the artwork and file card, then maybe. Without the vehicle, he is incomplete.

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
I certainly hope the asking price is zany high, because I opened one of them. If anything, he'll be my control case for GPS testing, and he is quite literally entirely composed of the awful stuff.

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
What second hand store did you track these down at?
Cheers!

Re: GI JOE Gurus: a little help
It looks to be the Hasbro Direct version available by mail in the early nineties. If the date stamp reads "Made In China" then I believe it is.
