When transforming him to vehicle there is two tabbed parts above the trailers front wheel... the rectangle is so tight, and if you snap it in, it will blow out the little plastic flanges on the opposite side, leaving some stress marks. Only issue ive had so far.. except panicing that my antenna's were not in that little paper bag

Yeah he's big but the engineering is kind of mediocre by today's standards, especially since he's mostly just a Metroplex retool. I wish we could get a new fortmax figure with a proper base mode like the G1 figure did, now that would (probably) be worth 300.

Wait until you discover the prices on everything else between today and 6-7 years ago.

Yeah, but kind of not the issue here. He's an old Titan that's less articulated, less complex and made to a lesser degree of quality compared to all the recent Titans that cost the same. They could have gone a bit cheaper (but it's Hasbro).

And he DOES go for a lot on the aftermarket. Honestly $300 is cheap compared to what you'd have to pay for one now, so these WILL sell.

Further, for Hasbro, it keeps his trademark active.

Yeah. I'm hardly naive to inflation. the reality is Hasbro's price points are not based on need but profit. Yes, capitalism, even so, hasbro regularly talks out of both sides of their mouth "oh cost of production! Also record profits! Shareholders!"

I HIGHLY doubt max costs so much to produce, even today, he needs to be $300. But that's the "price point" so that's what it is.

And to the other point, given what he goes for on the aftermarket, 300 is comparable.

I get all of that. It doesn't mean I have to like it. It's like when they increase a price point and old stock now costs that. I somehow grabbed an ss86 hot rod for 40, and a week later all the voyagers were 47.99. Same toy. It's like... I'd get it if price increases applied to the new lines but it's across the board.
