ok now I know I am not from K-W but I am close (Woodstock) and I would be really interested in comming to a meet up as my town is real small and I don't think many if any would show. So my question is are out of towners but close are we welcome to join in the activities as I would have went to the last thing just I didn't see the posting until today

I'd vote "absolutely". K/W, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, and surrounding areas is what I'd vote to include!
