Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
I cannot believe it, going over the list of nominees today for the 2009 Oscar's ! How the hell does Dark Knight NOT make the list for Best Picture, Cinematography and Best Director ?! Jeez the movie was one of the first shot in IMAX !!!
I can never seem to understand the Academy and their snubbing of films like this ! Instead a Brad Pitt film (which I have yet to see) heads the list with 13 Nominations ! I'm sure it's a great film...but looking over what else is nominated, you be serious telling me Dark Knight shouldn't be among them !
Even Wall-E was shafted. Wall-E ! Probably one of the better animated films to come out since Toy Story.
I don't know what those idiot snobs in Hollywood are on, but clearly they lack taste and a deep story line...perhaps replaying the movie, but really slow might help ?!
Sorry I just had to sound off on this travisty. Heath Ledger better win or my head will explode lol.
That is all.

Re: Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
I agree with many movies in the past that SHOULD have been on the best picture list, but unfortunately The Oscars are run by a group of people that only think a certain type of movie can be a best picture. I would love to see the dark Knight try for the best picture, but until the oscars change their staff... a ton of good movies get the Sh*t end of the stick.

Re: Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
We are talking about the same people who think Gay Cowboys eating pudding would win best picture. (South Park called it WAY before Brokeback mountain even came out)

Gran Torino got the shaft too. Clint Eastwood really should have gotten a acting nod.
Mickey Rourke probably won't win either (even though he deserves it) because he's too "weird" for the academy.
Cheers!

Re: Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
Remember, these are the same people who favoured talking bears over giant transforming robots when it comes to special effects achievement.
The people who run the Oscars like to believe that they still make the kind of movies that they used to make. It's not a surprise that DK got left out. Garbage.

Re: Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
Also keep in mind the guys who run and pick this stuff in the Oscars are really REALLY old men. It's why they "came" all over Lord of the Rings which they read in book form back in 1954. I mean shit, what is Batman to them or Transformers? That campy Adam West show and those toys that fight other toys?

Re: Dark Knight Gets The Shaft !
let me just say, I liked The Dark Knight but, I do not think it deserves an Academy Award it was far from being a best picture and Heath ledger was far from being a best supporting actor in my opinion.
