This is just another case of the academy not taking a "comic book" movie seriously. This is also why their television ratings are worse with each passing year. When a movie like the dark knight, that has both critical and massive box office success, gets snubbed like this, it's no wonder people have no vested interest in the Oscars anymore. People want to root for their favorites. Has anyone seen Frost/Nixon? Or Milk? No. I'm not saying they should only nominate popular fare: I'm just saying, just because it's a success at the box office doesn't mean it isn't serious art.

The nods this year were pathetic. Benjimin Button was an OK movie but man are they really hyping it up. It is one of those films that will get lost in the shuffle and will never become a classic.

Milk was good but then again, play a gay and you get a nod.

Batman would not have beat out Slumdog Millionaire but it should have received Best Picture, Director and Cinematography nods.

I also have a problem with foreign films being nominated against Americian films. The Oscars are about celebrating American Cinema not the world. Slumdog is the best film of the year but it should had only been nominated for best foreign film.

I expected nothing less than this from the academy awards. I guess this is one of the reasons why the show is nearly unwatchable.

This is of course the same individuals that decided talking animals had better visual effects than Transformers..................

Dark Knight should have gotten those nominations, and I'm not even as high on the film as most of you all are.

And Wall-E isn't up for Best Animated Feature? Is that correct? My goodness, Wall-E was one of the Best Films of the year, nevermind best animated picture.

It's like they all grouped together and decided that "Fantasy" was done after Lord of the Rings......
