Re: Got a few Ikea Detolf shelves, but missing parts, any suggestions?
I have purchased a couple of items at Ikea that were missing the hardware. There was no problem going back to the Ikea to pick up the pack of hardware that was missing.
Are you sure that they don't sell them? I ask this because the employee who helped me out went into a room full of just hardware and brought out the pack that I needed for my model.
I don't know if that helps.

Re: Got a few Ikea Detolf shelves, but missing parts, any suggestions?
Really? I bought them used though, not from the store. That weird Ikea Chat room with the simulated helper said they don't sell parts, but they said it's worth calling up a store which pretty much sounds like a sugar coated way of "Sorry, you can waste the time and gas driving here, but buy a frozen yogurt to comfort yourself!"
Maybe I'll go anyways...hmm...
Mmm...Frogurt...

I just found this on their website:
"Hardware requests submitted after 45 days from the purchase date, or without sales receipt, may be subject to fees."
http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_CA/custome.../hardware.html
So it seems you can request hardware but they will charge you something for it.

Re: Got a few Ikea Detolf shelves, but missing parts, any suggestions?
I just bought one of these cases a week ago, and tossed the cap for the top, and feet as well because I didn't want them, since the cap would have made my treasure chest on top wobbly, and the feet, I wanted to be able to slide the display case on the carpet, so I didn't put them on.
they are gone with the garbage now though, sorry bud, if only you made this thread a week ago, I would have just given them to ya for the price of shipping.

I hate that these case changes almost every year. The first 2 I got, 8 years ago, are really sturdy. They have thicker the columns, that are on the outside of the glass. Every since they changed it to the thinner columns that are inside the glass, it just feels cheap.

Just use some small vinyl tube to cover those pegs holding the glass.

I lost all the bolts to my detolf during a move and just went back to ikea and asked for them and they gave me a set...super easy...I would've paid for them but they didn't ask so it may be a ymmv situation on having to pay.

I'll add to the group that has never had a problem getting that odd missing part from Ikea. Not that it has happened a lot, but it has happened on occasion.
