We’re debating the value vs what your getting. People think that pointing out a figure’s shortcomings is the same as calling their children ugly

Mods don't watch threads. Click the report bottom on the bottom left of posts if you feel like rules are being violated. This goes for everyone

Criticism is fine. An official product with limitations because of budget and safety standards will never approach the amount of detail of a 3rd party figure not constrained by those limitations without becoming an over-engineered mess like MP-44. But some of the comments are directly or indirectly insulting the fans who do want to purchase Haslab Unicron. We get enough grief from others who don't understand our hobby as adult toy collectors. We don't need other collectors insulting our choice of purchase.

There is ZERO constructive criticism in the above comments. Only direct or veiled personal attacks.

You articulated that very nicely.

Exactly. No one is forcing you to back the figure.
I dont agree with what Hasbro is doing. The price is way to high for what I believe we are getting plus a 2 year wait so there won't be any gratification for quite a long time. I am still backing this because he would still look fantastic displayed and I have money set aside for it. Sold a lot of figures this year with a lot more to go. Plus side of losing interest is willingness to spend on one big thing and far less on small things that add up to the big thing by the year end.

It reminds me of when everyone got upset when Zach Braff was using indiegogo/Kickstarter to ask for money for his already funded movie.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's magically going to get the remaining 2k backers just before the time runs out. Hasbro probably always had plans to have it go into production, but they used the Kickstarter approach over made to order so they could create fake urgency for those who were on the fence of buying the figure.

The same suspicious thing happened with Jabba's barge (if I'm remembering right).
