Re: Collecting Transformers Appreciation Thread

Started almost 10 years ago I think (if not more) for me, just picking up a vintage minibot or Soundwave/Blaster cassettes here and there, out of nostalgia. I only had a handful of TFs during my childhood, so it was cool to be able to get one that I always wanted as a kid but never got. Of course it's snowballed from there...

Now for me, it's the artistry of it all - the engineering, the designs. To me these figures are works of art, much like paintings or sculptures are to someone else. I like the aesthetics, which is why I tend not to have any particular theme in my collection...I just get what I like looking at

Re: Collecting Transformers Appreciation Thread

I watched the G1 cartoons when I was a kid and loved them. Just over a year ago I saw a blow out sale on DOTM figures and thought "hey, that Optimus has such a nice paint job, what the heck, I'll buy one". I instantly fell in love all over again. I'm 15 months further along and too afraid to take a head count. My spare bedroom has been dubbed "The Creepy Robot Room" by a visiting family member.
