I've pre-ordered from TRU.CA before. They usually charge my card and then a week or so later they reverse the charges. So I wouldn't worry about that. I think they just do that to make sure you have the funds on your card at the time of pre-order.

Just make sure you have the funds when they have stock ready to ship.

What happens then? Do they just take it back out of your account or bill you again?

This is the strangest thing lol. First they hold my money for a weekish, then they give it back, then they want it back. Why don't they just take prepayment for preorders and be done with it?

Because no one should ever take money ahead of time for a preorder. One should never be expected to pay before the item is in stock. I refuse to preorder from anywhere that does this.

For people who would just like to prepay, why not? I would love to have the option of prepay on preorders.
And for smaller retailers, it would help them increase buying power.

With a fluctuating currency exchange rate, sometimes it's actually beneficial to "lock in" a price by paying early when the rate is more favorable. I saved some money on the MP10 reissue that way.

I see in a thread at TFW that in the US, people are finding MP Starscream figures in store and some have even got theirs shipped. I wonder what the delay is on our side of the border.

I'm anxious to get mine in, mostly to inspect it because in the same thread a lot of people have posted significant QC issues.

TRU is odd in Canada, they got everyone riled up for the release of the new Star Wars stuff online and then you couldn't even order one Black Series 6" other than Obi Wan the Shelfwarmer Kenobi.
