Which figures of characters do you think are superior

Wondering what you guys think is the superior figure of a character from comparing older lines to current

Example Takara legends arcee easily beats the earthrise kingdom version

Some people say thrilling 30 rhinox and waspinator are superior to kingdom offerings.

Which older figures beat out the new ones

Cybertron Optimus Prime beats the shit out of recent Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime.

Both are leader class, from this figure u can tell how many corners Hasbro has cut at the same time shameless raising the price.

Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior.....

Sorry I couldn't resist.

Definitely, even without having seen them in person I can say the original Prime Buikhead and Arcee are better than the Legacy versions.

Yes the Legacy ones are not meant to be direct updates to the Prime versions. They are meant to fit the current aesthetic of WFC/Legacy. Either way I look at both of them, and then look at my Prime versions and it isn't even close. The Prime versions are superior. I shudder to think what the Legacy take on TF:Prime Optimus will look like.

Classics Starscream.
The classics seeker mold was an amazing feat of engineering, accomplishing what was considered impossible at the time:
-No seeker parts-forming
-actual good posability
-minimal kibble
-fun, un-complex Transformation

It easily out-did the MP Starscream released around that time.

Seconded on the t30 arcee over kingdom/earthrise.
T30 Springer beats the *shit* out of the siege toy.

Man I passed on Siege Springer cause I heard about his sh*t ankles (battle damage didn't help), and the sword/blades look too floppy
Later on, I picked up T30 Springer from RobotScrapyard @ GoreSt Antique Shop, sealed for $35!

What a beaut, got the Sandstorm retooling earlier (which I kind of like even better, alt mode locks together better for me), love this mold

I don't have Seige Springer, so can't comment personally. But T30 Springer is one of the best mold in my opinion.

Re: Which figures of characters do you think are superior

For the Springer thing, for the 30th, in hand, it was good at the time and still holds well, but Sandstorm is a better remold and I love it, and I can't see Hasbro even being able to redo the magic that went into it as the only thing I could say it could benefit from would be ankle tilt and the small addition of such articulation, but it's a figure that will must certainly stay at my desk as part of my go-to figures.

For Siege Springer, he gets lots of hate due to being compared to the 30th version, but to me, it's one of the better Siege figures. His transformation isn't easy, but no harder than the 30th version. The ankle thing is easily fixed with floor polish so that's not an issue that's any different from almost every other figures that have a loose part (and with WFC, there's few that haven't gotten a floor polish treatment).

And while I am not a fan of the cartoon esthetics, he's like Astrotrain where they look "right" in relation to the cartoons, but manages to not look cartoonish. So I separate it from the 30th, and I end up preferring the Siege version without hesitation.

I agree. They tightened up a lot of the tabs and little things with Sandstorm, just a beauty. purely toy, sandstorm is a perfection of Springer's draft. Character and design wise, it's springer.

Imo between the two a top five voyager of all time, maybe top 3.

Siege Springer sucks. It's a boring toy, with an inspired and overly convoluted engineering, and a shitty deco.

RID Bulk and Arcee or First Edition ones? I?m a First Edition fan personally, I went all in on the Takara versions but that RID Vehicon is pretty good to transform.
