Re: TFCON 2011

It was my first TFCon this year, met a whole bunch of new friends, getting a chance to see the guys doing the Canadian Slag podcasts, bought a ton of stuff, got autographs from Alex, Simon (thank you for signing my brother's graphic novel!), Gary, and Paul. I had an amazing time the entire weekend. Saw some really awesome costumes and cosplaying (although I wish I brought a better camera... ).

My buddy decided to no-show for the weekend and I already bought two weekend passes, so I ended up giving the 2nd weekend pass to a new friend whom I met on the bus ride to the Delta for free.

The funny thing was that a lot of people mistook me for some other Asian guy from the boards (apparently Asian, short hair, glasses, wearing a black apparel) because I was wearing glasses, short hair, and rocking a black t-shirt with the giant red Autobot logo.

It would've been nice if the weekend pass card had a little space to write down your own screen name/tag from TFW2005 or Cybertron.ca at the front so that it'll be a bit easier for everyone to recognize each other.

Overall, it was really fun and very well organized. Kudos to the TFCon staff for doing an excellent job at organizing this event and I'm definitely coming back next year.

Re: TFCON 2011

Forgot to mention one thing, though: I'm a bit disappointed that Matt Moylan didn't show up. Was looking forward to him signing a few of my things and buying a few prints from him...

Yes! I was going to mention that. I really got it in my head that I'd get a leozack sketch from him. It wouldve been SOOOOOO cute too.

I had so much fun. Thank you all for bearing with my first attempt at hosting the Faction Feud, I hope my inability to speak quietly for 2+ hours did not disable any higher brain functions.

Re: TFCON 2011

I had an awesome time all weekend long. Thanks to Colin, Chris, Gord and the rest of the crew for the amazing hospitality you all showed me this past weekend.

Also to all the folks I met so as I now have faces to go with the names, you guys and gals rock!!!

Simon Furman was an awesome guest. I loved getting to chat with him for a while on Saturday. Very down to earth guy.

Alex and Becky were awesome as always, with Alex's art for the exclusives and comic just making everything that much more special.

The exclusives themselves are all so very cool. I personally like Toxin the best. Loved the Stronghold origins story that Proto wrote.

It was great to see Marvin and Hugh again, and meeting Dan Khanna for the first time. His 4/20 prints were such an awesome deal!

The dealer room was incredible. I've never seen so many Transformers loose in the wild before! I ended up with close to 50 new transforming robots for my collection.

The cars were awesome! Not only did we get Bumblebee and Barricade but the Batmobile as well. BONUS!!!!!!!!

All and all I had an amazing time. I hope to be able to return in future years.

Re: TFCON 2011

Thanks to everyone who made me feel like a million bucks this weekend. All I can say is for those that this was their first TFcon; this is what it's all about and it's only going to get bigger and better.

Re: TFCON 2011

I had a great time again this year though I missed a few panels that I had hoped to catch. It was quite enjoyable when I happened to hear a familar voice from Canadian Slag and went all "OMG thats so and so!!"
