Re: Our biggest fear with our collections
That is a big fear lol. And earthquakes too, but that is seriously not funny. Being in Vancouver, I was always told "the big one" is coming since I was very young. And whenever I look at my shelf, that is sometimes in the back of my mind.

Re: Our biggest fear with our collections
Interestingly, I told my wife, in the case that I croak and my collection needs to be sold, to contact a good (also toy-collector) friend of mine, whom I've briefed ahead of time.
While this friend doesn't necessarily collect all the same toylines as I do, he'll at least know where to start looking in terms of value and the like.

Re: Our biggest fear with our collections
One of my fears is knowing I will never save my collection in a house fire.

Ahh, that one is OK... House insurance and the fact I would get to hunt for them all again.

Just like in G1 S3, "The Burden Hardest to Bear", when Galvatron tried to destroy the Matrix with his fusion canon, and then he saw all the former Autobot leaders spirit come to haunt him lol

Re: Our biggest fear with our collections
I would be more afraid of being in a coma and waking up to find my stuff all gone.

Actually home insurance usually does not cover collectables unless you specified this in your coverage (which you would have to pay extra) and have also taken record of what you own.

From what I remember reading somewhere, it's difficult to get toy collections insured via home insurance because:
a) They normally don't insure toys (which, realistically, is what they really are)
b) If you want to insure them as "collectibles", they fall under the same bucket/category as antiques, and will then be calculated with the rates/premiums related to those.
