I just heard on Radio Free Cybertron that the PCC's have been retconned into G1 as the prototypes for the proper combiners, despite Smolder and Chopster appearing in the last animated short (can't remember what they're called).

I'll reserve judgement until I see the Dinobot set. If there's one I'll buy its probably that one.
Check 'em out! Previews on the Allspark

And for the record, Dead End is the left arm of Menasor in "The Key To Vector Sigma prt 2". Which is what I use him as. I like my combiners to be "show accurate".

Yeah, GM and Proto mentioned that as well.

I'm not sure where that leaves the target audience, assuming the target audience is largely kids.

I suspect many adult G1 collectors might not be that accepting of the revised history.

I assume they are making it part of G1 to bring in adult collectors who question or pass off completely the PCCs.

It worked on me. I had no intention of ever getting any PCC 's, but a good story and characterization can make me want a toy.

So yesterday I bought the Bombshock 5 pack, and it's really cool. But I probably won't get any of the others until the Dinobots come out. I just don't like how they look.

Re: Canadian Slag Episode 40 - Two Fanboys, a Crank, and a Podcast

I went to fiddle with my PCC after listening and I tried really hard to like them, but I still don't. It's not the simple drone's or anything, I don't like them because their combined limbs fall off too easily for some reason. I still think the overall idea is neat, but I'm not going to buy any more of them.

You guys mentioned a scene in the 1986 epic which had a Cyclonus getting destroyed - where abouts is that?

Interesting to hear that the Buster Prime & Jetfire pack is hard to get in Japan- I can't remember if you mentioned the single Buster Prime to also be hard to get?

In the original script, as well as the Marvel Comics adaptation (#2) and IDW's Transformers The Animated Movie (#2) a "Cyclonus like jet" gets destroyed, but not Cyclonus (who was holding Galvatron inside)
