Hey fellas.

Open offer to anyone who is cyber stalking the HasbroToyShop SDCC sale.

I'm looking for the Magic The Gathering PLANESWALKER set. It should be listed for $65usd I'm offering a hundred ($100) if anyone can grab one for me. I need one for me for my collection and if I can get it one for my girl.

I'll be keeping an eye on the HTS site as well, is there anything I should be grabbing for other bordies if I get the chance?

I do wonder on what grounds they're suing on though. Jetfire the character is a Hasbro property - the G1 toy was obviously the Robotech/Macross figure. Are they suing on the likeness of the jet to Robotech? The plane isn't technically the same either since it's a GI Joe vehicle...kinda feels like Harmony Gold might be grasping at straws here...

I was reading about that. Isn't Harmony Gold doing about the minimal amount to retain licence?

Could be the jet/artwork still retains a pretty close likeness to the Macross toy. However, there would be as much difference as when Hasbro routinely rips off cars withouth licensing them, so I doubt they'll have much of a case.

Metroplex is sold out by Amazon.com. It's only listing resellers asking for "Takara price" now.

Yes that Jetfire is looking too much like Marcross Super Valkyrie. Hasbro/Takara can make TF "loosely" based a real world car (ROTF Sideway's Not-Audi R8) without getting in trouble because a toy will not damage the business of a car manufacturer. But this Jetfire is toy that looks nearly the same as another toy made by Yamato and Bandai. That's why they have a case. Same as Disney making a bluray case that looks like the Rimowa suitcase used in Avengers. Disney had to back out and redesign the case.
