Re: NEW MSRP starting March 28th 2022

So what is TRU's excuse?

I know it is a "suggested" retail price, but c'mon.

$36 deluxes versus TRU $43?? Really a $7 difference?

$48 voyagers versus TRU $50. Not as big a difference, but still higher.

$77 Leader versus TRU $85?? An $8 dollar difference??

Titans are going up to $265!! If this new TRU pricing holds, I could see them asking $300. As an aside, what a terrible time to increase the Titan price. Anyone out there really willing to pay $265-$300 for an updated Cybertron Metroplex?

Hoo-boy this is going to be an interesting year.

Ohhh I dunno maybe all that money they lost during the repeated lockdowns during the height of the pandemic? I'm sure they didn't enjoy paying for leases with little to no revenue, so I guess that's where some of the blame can come from. I don't agree with it as a customer either but simply will have to find other stores to shop at and be more selective.

I mean, besides the very first lockdown, my TRU has been open to customers throughout, sometimes at limited capacity. And even during the first lockdown, they were doing curbside.

I think this has more to do with new ownership trying to up revenues to make them saleable to a larger corporate entity.

Re: NEW MSRP starting March 28th 2022

This is wild. Just insane.

Toysrus.ca has Voyagers listed for 49.99 now.
Core class is now 16.99.
Rodimus Commander class is now 139.99 up from 124.99
That stupid Vampire crossover DELUXE is now 84.99 up from 79.99. The Ghostbusters one went up to 109.99 up from 99.99.
I can't tell what a normal deluxe costs anymore, but one of the Selects is 39.99.

I would be laughing if this was funny. Goodbye hobby collecting.

Besides the price increasing, pls don't forget the size-shrink, or whatever that stupid "part-counts" BS that some of us actually believes.

Both these makes me stop buying from Hasbro or Takara.

Excellent video going straight to the point about what's going on & the challenges retailers are facing.

Prices going up, many of us are going to break up with this hobby...we always come back.

Think I will cancel my Legacy Preorders. I will not pay these prices going forward. There is no point starting a line when Hasbro is out of their freaking minds. Their stuff just is not worth these prices (IMO of course).

Re: NEW MSRP starting March 28th 2022

I keep arguing with those that keep asking for higher prices... I guess they're happy now.

*sigh*...

I wasn't impressed with the jump when Siege arrives, but I'm just glad that we did get almost all of the main G1 characters in an updated engineering, so there's very few (barely any) that I've been even consider in the leaks and reveals for the next year.

Thing is, will this be the line that enough quit the hobby to do enough damage to the PROFIT margins to send a message to manufacturers... it just sucks for everyone.
