New vehicle ? What should I get ?
My long time friend of 16 years is about to pass away from many accumulating internal injuries('84 Bronco II)
I need something new within a week or 2, I WILL NOT buy a "car" I don't fit in them.
I'm thinking a small SUV, any suggestions ?
...Obviously I've been out of the car buying market since I was 17(now 33) so I need some help !
Thanks !
P.S.
I hate Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan.......

Good buy N|orth American! :P as for new SUV? Trailblazer is pretty good but I also like the GMC Acadia or if you're going for alittle more flash and $$$ the Cadillac SRX is pretty smooth

Re: New vehicle ? What should I get ?
I know you don't like Kia, but I've been driving a Kia Sportage LX since August 2006 and it's the best car I've ever had. Ok, my list or cars isn't very long, but I have yet to encounter a single problem with it. It already has 66,500kms. It's economical, small yet roomy, fully loaded when it comes to security and you can tow a small trailer if needed (we crossed Canada towing a 2,500lbs trailer with just a 4-cylinder). That said, I hope my next car will be a small electric SUV. 5 years from now.

I always wanted to get an old school Monte Carlo.
Something like this would be awesome if you had the Skill to fix it.

They do not make cars like that anymore.

I really don't think you should discount the Japanese brands. There's a reason why they're not struggling to avoid bankruptcy like the American Auto makers. Bad product, bad service.
As for prices, some people are saying that the auto prices will drop even further as the year goes by as the recession progresses.

I'm not, Mitsubishi is on my list, Subaru would be on it if they made an SUV.
I need to get something within a week so this can't wait.
Thanks, keep 'em coming !

lol, sadly those brands don't make it don't make very many good SUVs. I'm just saying, try a test drive for any brand, stay unbiased and see how the test drive and feel is, it may surprise you.

Re: New vehicle ? What should I get ?
Sounds like you are in dire need of a shiny new F150. I don't drive my Ford in the winter but frickin love it the brand.
If you wanted Japanese, my Mazda has going on 250k kms on it and we are just breaking it in. The thing is indestructable and I know they have a few pickups/SUVs in their lineup. Just passed its emissions test with flying colours, no repairs required.
