There have been a number of issues noted by members with Double Clutch and Rallybots... namely the arms and shoulders that pop off, and a torso mode that has shoulders not fitting properly.
So this review is for those who are on the sidelines about this set. First off, I applied coatings of nail polish to the ball joints, so that the elbow joint on Double Clutch held together well enough to pose. It's a manufacture fault that shaped the "socket" of the joint wrong so that the "ball" doesn't sit well in it. With nail polish the ball stayed in fine for posing. But could still come out easily with some force.
Second, there IS a place to tab the "shoulders" securely for the torso mold. Please see pictures below. The "hole" on the door of its car mode is the key. With the shoulders secured, I have no problem plugging in the drones for arms and posing.
So with those two items out of the way, here are my comments on the set:
Car modes: Double Clutch and his drones all look pretty good as cars. Double Clutch himself transforms decently and parts fit well as a vehicle.
Double Clutch Robot mode: pretty cool/neat figure, stands pretty well, very limited posability though. The most annoying thing (after the elbows that pop off before layers of nail polish) is the blue combining plugs that dangle and have no place to hide!
Combined Mode: Looks pretty good as an Autobot PCC (given the limitations of PCCs in general). The areas where the blue plugs go into the leg drones seem a bit wobbly, so I had a tough time balancing the combined figure to stand for my pictures. The combined bot seems to want to either collapse forward or backwards. I will see if there are ways to make him stand balanced in the next few days.
So there, hope those of you who can't combine the torso with the limbs can do so going forward.
