So no, prices for Vancouverites won't go up. Just everywhere else it will be cheaper.
Of course they call it temporary but we'll see how long temporary ends up being.

Actually, you're right - this Vancouver Sun article has a few more details on the fares:
http://www.vancouversun.com/news/met...977/story.html
So it's a "temporary" change to a single zone for buses only (because they can't seem to solve the issue for the tap in/out delays on the buses) and it's the $2.75 single zone price. But for Skytrain and Seabus, the current zone fare structure stays in effect, and you have to tap in and out properly if you don't want to get charged extra.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
I pay $91 each month on a 1 zone pass. I probably already spend more on toys every months. LOL.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
$124 here and I'm exactly 2 stops past the zone boundary. Used to be 1 stop until they built the Canada Line. But everything goes up in price, it's just a matter of time. It's still more economical than owning a car, and more environmentally responsible.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
I still think it was a bad and stupid decision to cancel the 98 B-line after Canada line was open. If the 98 B-line is still running then the Canada line wouldn't be packed to the top during rush hours. They don't even cover the same route.
I am seriously considering buying a small car. Time is money and too often I just don't want to be waiting 10-15 minutes at a bus stop when I could have driven to work from my apt to office in less than 10...

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
I'm lucky that my commute only involves the Canada Line. But I agree it was dumb to cancel the 98 because access to South Granville is now much less convenient. But in the end the Canada Line does take up a lot of that traffic. It does suck to be waiting for often-delayed buses, but for me the cost of a car is not warranted. My commute is convenient enough that I would still take transit even if I owned a car. I have no plans to own one soon either, I'd much rather join a car-share program.

I already have a car, so that one zone change is moot for me... >_>

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
Got my TAV-21 today, he's pretty cool! Anybody else having weird issues with a gap between the trailer and cab though? The stock photos make it look flush, but I can't get it to do that, and the instructions aren't super clear.

I have the same thing going on. But I don't care as much becuz I think the toy is ass. Felt like an intern designed it. I transformed it twice and put it straight into storage.

Yeah, it's not the sturdiest and most intuitive thing Takara have designed... still looks cool though. He has a place on my OP shelf.
