If you could change something about the franchise what would it be?
If you could change something about any part of the franchise, any cartoon/comic series, movies, toyline, whatever. What would it be?
It occurred to me again while watching Rescue Bots with my son this morning that 1 flaw in the writing is how the Bots were presented to the people of Griffon Rock.
They were presented as just robots, so in public they always have to pretend to be simple robots, unable to take action without command. But of course they invariably have to take action which has lead to someone asking; "How did the robot know to do that without being ordered?" more than once.
But if they had been presented as robots with learning A.I., then over time they could be seen taking independent action without it being questioned, and even start to show their own personalities as they "learn" more.
I'd like Hasbro to learn that the REAL lesson they should have taken away from the backlash over Optimus Prime's death was that every series doesn't need to have Optimus & Megatron at the forefront, but removing them doesn't mean you have to kill them off.
Have a new set of characters be the focus of the show, but maybe Op, Megs, and co. just pop up every now and then. Kinda like how Ultra Magnus and the Elite Guard were used in Animated. That way Hasbro still gets to retain their usage rights and make new toys of them, but they don't always have to be the focus of the current show.
After watching RID over the last few days with my son (BTW RID is fantastic for little kids! My son is 3 and the show was fast paced and full of enough action to hold his attention.) I'd like to see IDW bring more characters from other series into their Ultimate Transformers comics that their comics have become. Like, I'd love to see Prowl's long lost goof-ball younger brother Sideburn show up, maybe bring in Hot Shot to fill that role that has been vacated by Rodimus.
I'd have Hasbro really use their Hasbro Studio's and follow Warner/DC's lead and start making straight to video movies of the comics, interspersed with periodic movie continuations of fan favorite series like G1 and Animated, or imagine an actual G2 movie using the G2 designs.

I would force them to make a proper MP 2.0 Megatron ASAP, before any of those MP small car robots.

I'll be that guy: I would fire Michael Bay.
More seriously though, I would find a way to shift the focus off of Bumblebee, and cycle thru a few other characters as the "kid friendly" one. Maximum 2 years per character focus, avoids the over saturation of everything. TF is about so much more than just BB, and Optimus Prime.

It doesn't have to be a hand gun, even a MP G2 megatron is good enough for me.
Decepticon really need a great leader now.

More. Nudity.
I jest, what I would love to see is a series where each year they focus on just one combiner team. Unconventional? Yes, but it would make some interesting story telling.

Well I wouldn't go as far as firing Michael Bay, I would have not hired him in the first place.
I agree with cycling through characters. Op, Megs, BB, Starscream, etc are starting get really stale :/
