Anyone got the FP "Insecticon" Thundershred here? Care to review? Looks very tempting...

Ive been out of the TF's scene for a few years, but can anyone explain how this company is able to produce toys that look so much like actual transformers and Hasbro's lawyers dont take notice?

hasbro does know about this, actually it kinda sapports the TF brand, like the add-on kits for the superion and bruticus, which made the actual figures become worth more.

the reason they get away with it because, they live in China, who is gonna stop them. other thing they give them diffrent back stories and avoid copy right logos or names, etc. do anything thats possible for them not to get sued

Hasbro has taken notice. In both good and bad ways. The cost of trying to squish the tiny bugs that are 3rd party companies would cost Hasbro more money than it would make for them. After all, these 3rd party products aren't even being sold in stores along side regular Transformers. They're only being sold online in what they would consider specialty stores to collectors. They're such a small portion of their market, their practically invisible. Now if the 3rd party stuff started being sold in brick and mortar store next to official Transformers merchandise, then Hasbro would lay the hammer down. Which is exactly what happened in Japan with Takara.

Now on the good side of things, Hasbro is no fool. They know an opportunity when they see it. When FansProject was about to release their Protector armor, Hasbro just so happens to release not 1, but 2 repaints of Rodimus suitable for use with said 3rd party upgrade set for those who missed the Classics and Henkei releases.

So good on Hasbro then.

Just to be clear though, how many of these fansprojects have come about? I saw a Perceptor set 3 figures, Rodimus armor, the Insecticons. What else is there?
Are these available at 'cons and expos like the Action Figure Expo next month?

Yep, there are many dealers that bring stuff made by Fansprojects and other 3rd party companies.
