Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?

Value Village on Regent in Winnipeg has a bag of around 15 Kenner Star Wars Figures(no weapons or cloaks) in their display. I couldn't see the price so I asked to see the bag. Price was $159.99......... Lady tells me she priced them out herself on the internet one at a time and that the total value of the figures was $450 based on that. She tells me that the Tusken Raider figure in the bag by itself was worth $60.

I ask her if she took the fact that they had no parts into account. She says yes. Of course I'm not buying what she is telling me for a second, but I thank her and we move along.

So I get home and google the magical $60 Kenner Tusken Raider on Ebay, completed listings. Loose ones with no parts are all selling for under $5.

I suspect that bag of kenner figures will be there for a long while. Ones I can recal that were in the bag are 2 Scout Troopers, Admiral Ackbar, Yoda, 2 Nien Numb, Stormtrooper, Snowtrooper and the Tusken Raider. There were a few more past that.

You should report them, since it will harm vv's business.

Agreed.
The more reality is slapped into them, the better for you.

Maybe she hates scalpers. I think it's working for her.

I agree. VV is not a collectables store, they sell good for charity, and if no one is going to pay $160 for some random old Star Wars figure, they're not raising money are they?

Not Really.

They are a large for profit company that donates a portion of their sales to charity.
