Re: What's the appeal in the Activators?

Besides, almost every Transformer transforms the way the topic crator described, so why not have a small group of figures that transform instantly?

I felt the same way about these at first, but after seeing them in person, they look pretty cool, especially for their price point. The Starscream looks awesome, and now I'm starting to regret I didn't buy him >.>

They are great. I mean geez, a smaller Starscream that is just as good as the larger one. And very articulated at that!

I picked up a BB, to me it's a better scale with Voyager Prime and Leader Bulkhead in bot mode

In some ways, he's better. Mostly because he doesn't have that big ugly panel behind his head (he's got one going down his back behind his legs, but it's not as noticeable.

They're also smaller (which, all other things being equal, I consider a plus) and cheaper than the main figs, and their auto-transform gimmick is cool.

I remember as a kid playing with my G1 figures that it was always annoying having to take a minute or two to transform them when they could do it instantly on the cartoon. I would have loved to have figures like these at that age.

I'm actually selling off most of my Animated collection since I don't think it's work maintaining a group of figures that don't fit in with the rest of my collection, but you can have my Activators when you pry them from my cold dead hands.

I think they're a good choice for someone who doesn't have the space or money to collect some of the larger figures, and as previously stated, some of the molds are absolutely fantastic in terms of detail and articulation.

I like the size and the play feature thus far, I only have Bumbelbee. Bumblebee is very possable the only point I don't like is that he has no hands. Still I think I like it as much if not more than the deluxe.

Speaking for myself, I have always liked a well-engineered flipchange here and there. It's part of why Voyager Animated Starscream won me over.

Bulkhead is actually the worst of the wave 1 Activators. If you were impressed by him you'll love Starscream and Bumblebee.

He has hands. They're just small and behind his doors. Unfortunately, you can't put anything in them.
