They can't make an online adjustment at the store level. You call their 800 number and they will do it over the phone. It takes a few days but you get an email when the refund has been processed. Have your receipt email handy for the order number. I've done it plenty.
It's possible though rare the csr puts up a protest. Persistence will work if you calmly explain it but I've generally found them very helpful.
