Re: transformer budgeting

The key is to define your collection.

What is your primary objective?
If a figure outside of your objective might be added to your collection, what are the exact requirements for it to qualify?

Another consideration is "regret".
Do you tend to regret buying figures outside of your primary objective more than not-buying figures outside of your primary objective, or vice versa?

Personally, after a few "bad" purchases outside of my primary objective (MP & G1), I have become better at refraining from "oddball" purchases that I end up regretting. Eg., I have CW Combaticons, SkyLynx, and Devastor, but I am really okay with passing on the other CW offerings. I picked up CW Powerglide too, but I wasn't hunting for him, and I gave it to my boy.

My budget... Probably under $500 a year, plus select MPs.
Like no Primal for me. What is that?
Also passing on most oddball/diaclone MPs (eg, black/yellow/gold Sideswipe, red Tracks, and bizarro Wheeljack). Delta Magnus intrigues me though. I acquired StarSaber when I was in a better financial position.

After a few 3P MPs, I'm finding it easy to pass on them.
