Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?
Within a six month period a while back I found 2 complete G1 Omegas. One in a box. One was just a baggie of what looked like just parts, but it was the whole shebang. Can't remember the cost, but it...

No, it's wrong if you don't at least pick it up and do one quiet pew-pew bang-bang.

Could be KO. I've saw a Star Sabre KO floating around VV once. Though the KOs I've seen have red wings.

Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?
I once bough a baggie with a BM Megatron head in it. Six months later I found a BM Megatron with no head. Another I found a Cybertron Red Alert shoulder missile, and years later I came across a bot...

Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?
Have that happening around here too. They had a Cybertron Ironhide in a bag for 9.99 and it was missing both its legs.
I find quite often now, they'll try charging $4+ for a deluxe figure that's...

Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?
I don't think that's the way it works. It's like a normal business. They make a profit. For example they buy something from a charity for $3 and they sell it for $10. After they pay their bills of...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Yeah... unfortunately they're still a for-profit business. Part of their schtick is low-low prices but it's still like every other business, make the most you can.

Just take an AAA battery wrap a little tape around it and you can use that to replace the omega lock, so at least you can transform him.

Funny how things work out. Last year I found Powermaster prime's head and guns. They are now property of DIA Commander :p

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
I sure hope so, but what I didn't mention was a tiny bag of a 5-6 energon weapons priced, I think at 3.99, maybe higher. It had Energon downshifts weapons, but nothing else of note, at least to me,...

^^Darn it good for you guys... stuff like that doesn't seem to pop up anymore around Vancouver. I went into VV today and saw an Armada Red Alert, butsted up and no parts, for $5.99. The tag was...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
I claim no high ground on this, but I don't see purchasing stuff at VV as any different than purchasing it at any other store. VV isn't a charity. They make a profit. They work with charities, but...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Here's a link to a wikipedia entry that describes their business model. They are, from my interpretation, a for profit business like anyone else out ther, except they work with local non-profits in...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Yeah. It seems that every store has a different pricer... some have people who "think" they know toys and try to jack up the prices. I see the 3.99 for one beat up gi-joe all the time and the same...

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Their cost isn't nil, but I'm sure pretty close to it. According to wikipedia, they buy from local non-profit orgs and resell for a profit. FYI they are a for profit organization.
