I have not broken any clear plastic parts myself, but out of all toys I bought over the last 3 years, only 2 have cracks on them and both have it on clear plastic.

I don't own any member card at Gamestop so I can't confirm nor deny, but yesterday, I bought a SG Megatron and the sticker on it showed that I could have paid $32.38 for it with Edge Platinum instead...
