Nova Prime WIP (Pic Heavy)

UPDATE IN POST 46 - FINISHED PAINTJOB

hey gang, been a while since I posted one of these! Anyway, if you read the title, you know what's coming. :p

Nova Prime is made from the Cybertron Optimus Prime mold, and I added extras on top to change the look somewhat. Oh and the wings are on Mixel joints if you were curious.

Still need to finish some things and refine some sanding.....got too cold to spray the primer so, I get extra time to make it look even better!

But now, the pics!

Vehicle mode;

Compared to another custom I'm making......;)

Gotta find a way to sharpen the detail on the chest....looks too mushy :s

Oh and he has gatling gun shoulder straps.

looking sweet so far brent.
for the sharpening of the chest details,try an "olfa" blade/dremel/more sanding combo(manicure emery boards come in handy here,ranging in sizes from 1/8" thick up to 1 +1/2" width.).
i also have an extra of this mold which i planned to do the same bot out of but then i seen the maketoys version.
(i still want it but i'm iffy on the reviews about how fragile his wing/pack connector is)

also,if you can still do it without removing other mods,split his lower legs and "height booster/cannon mounts" in halves and fill them with hotglue and screws,adding more weight to his bottom half.this will make him less top heavy and enable you to be able to do even more mods/armor/details add-ons wihtout him always wanting to topple over backwards.
if the crotch is also accessible still,split that sucker open also and coat the inner gears with a thin coat of clearcoat nail polish.this will also help with his posablility once he has all the new added weight.

this is one of those ideas I've wanted to act on for years :P I had to act on it.

also general note...ignore the badly painted base coat. Come the next toy show I'm finding a junker to replace all the leg and arm bits to get a second crack at priming it CORRECTLY. Just looks like crap atm :p

December 9th, 2014;

so I decided to add some details to the rear of the trailer so they don't too bland....here's what I got so far!

This part will normally be BEHIND the wings but hey....can't forget that either now can I? ;)

Decided the base of the wings looked too bland so I went with this layered look....still waiting on some extras for it though :p
