So many Megatron figures

With all the Megatron's figures out there, there's a huge selection for those who are looking for a Megatron figure. I am not talking about Nerftron, MP Megatron and the upcoming TR Voyager Triple-Changer Blitzwing re-tool Megatron. I am referring to the 3rd party Megatron's.

From the following figures, which ones you think it's the best (not saying, I am getting one, but like to see your opinion).

X-Transbot Apollyon
Combiner Wars Megatron
MakeToys Depostron
DX9 Mightron

If I was going to buy a 3P MP Megatron (I'm buying Rioter Despotron) I'd go with the Maketoys one, since it looks on average great from every angle and I like a lot of the sculpt. I think individual pieces of the other ones look better but they don't sum up to as good.

Despotron all the way for me. Cartoon thick and very cool transformation. Trigger hides inside chest. No gun kibble. Beautiful.

1. DX9 Mightron = looks fantastic in gun mode and from the front in robot mode, weird back kibble
2. MakeToys Despotron = looks fantastic in gun mode and from the front in robot mode, gun tip sticks out a bit too much at the back, weird skirt
3. X-Transbot Apollyon = looks good, but a pain to transform and not very playable
4. Combiner Wars Megatron = not a gun, too simplistic, boring to transform

It all depends whether you want a pistol or a tank.

For me Apollyon. I have him in my collection now, and yeah he was kind of scarey to transform, but if you take your time, he is not that bad...besides I don't really play with my tfs..I transform them a couple of times then put them on display, usually in robot mode anyway.

Re: So many Megatron figures

DX9 Mightron for me, no question.

Apollyon's proportions just seem off to me, especially his cannon, and I don't like the visible trigger on his legs. Despotron looks like he's wearing goalie pads on his legs, and his face sculpt isn't 'cartoon' enough for me.

Mightron has the best balance of proportions, cannon design, and face sculpt to make him the best choice for cartoon accuracy in my eyes.

While this doesn't show Apollyon, I made this comparison image to show just how close Mightron is to cartoon model.

I am also a fan of DX9 this time I wanted to Like the Maketoys one but the legs on it just don't do it for me, I am not a fan of how curved they look

One vote for Combiner Wars!

'Cause that's the one I have, and have this far successfully avoided the cash-absorbing black hole called 3rd Party.

Re: So many Megatron figures

Since I already have X-Transbot Apollyon, I will stick to it because I don't think MT or DX9 are significant better, so doesn't justify paying another $150 for any of them.

If I don't have 3rd party Megatron, I will go with DX9, because the price is much lower. From Chimungmung, DX9 version is $100, and MT version is $150.
