G1 Jetfire bullets/missiles

Hey members.
At the OCC last weekend I had a discussion with a few vendors including Eric (Slayback) and AJ (Nullray) and I believe Mario (Automoton) about whether G1 Jetfire came with missiles for his gun. The consensus was "NO!" from the experts even though I clearly remember my G1 Jetfire which I purchased in the 80's with my newspaper delivery earnings had missiles. I even modified the gun with a spring from a ball point pen and it would launch the missiles across the room. (I wish I still had then to prove my point to the others.) I found a link on the net which may shed some light on this.

Anyone want to add to this discussion?

This was a great conversation. I wonder if it was a pre rub Valkyrie?
I know the original Megs had plastic bullets that fired but was removed when released in North America. Maybe they did the same thing?

A link to the G1 instructions manual - Photon Missle Launcher?

I always wondered that myself. The gun I had for mine suggested that missiles could be inserted.

I just picked up my gun and he has the floppy tab that could be a launcher release button. I took out the screw and inspected it inside. It does have a hook that would secure a projectile but no spring to launch it. It looks like it has been de-activated.

Hey AJ,
The Jetfire I bought had a rub symbol on his head and did not have a diamond symbol on the wing. I don't remember if the box was bi-lingual but I did purchase it at a Canadian retailer back then. I believe it was Consumer's Distributing.

(Anyone remember filling out the little order sheet and waiting for them to bring out your order?)

The discussion included PrimeTarget; and Protoman. I can see the Takatoku version Jetfire coming with the missiles -if it was incorrectly packaged. But you're also saying it didnt have the macross symbols on the wings. Although i wouldnt say you were crazy... (i'll say it anyway - you're crazy) but i won't say you're a liar, as i dont see what you would have to gain from it. If this version exists it'd be a helluva commodity if misb.

The Macross toy definitely had a spring in there and little plastic bullet/missiles that shot out. I bought a KO of the Macross VF1j toy and it came with, basically, a functioning Jetfire gun.

Hasbro removed the spring and I thought the missiles, but perhaps one run accidentally included them?

That or you found missiles that fit and time has muddied the memory?

I can't remember what I had for breakfast but my memories of my original jetfire are still very clear.
I even remember offering him to my sister's garage sale and a young boy buying jetfire from her.
As for you Eric, my daughter says that I'm not crazy, I'm a genius. (reference to Disney's-Beauty and the Beast)
