Any TFCon'ers with instrument(s) & musical talent?
It's an idea that raised an eyebrow from a staff member, when I proposed this idea. We've got bankers, engineers, mechanics, doctors, nurses, military personel, retail workers, assorted characters, etc etc etc who attend TFCon every year.
So I'm putting it out here to ask if there are any of you who plays an instrument AND can perform in front of a crowd?
My idea: A concert for TFCon 2013.
We've already got a stage and sound system in place anyways, and a terrifically competent guy at the sound board. :D Why not take advantage of it? It was already used for panels and a podcast last year.
I don't think it'll be a long concert, probably 15-35 min max.
Suggested for the playlist:
-several 86 movie songs (or scores)
-Beast Wars intro/outro :D
-several live action movie songs (or scores)
-several Japanese series intro/outro
This is not like "American Idol", I'm not asking people to tryout at the show. But actually perform for attendees.
I'm not even sure if this could or would be able to be sloted into Friday night; Saturday during the dealer room hours; after the dealer room closes; or after the 86 movie viewing; or part of a Sunday night closing ceremony.
I personally cannot sing, nor do I have a singing voice, and even if I could remember everything I learned in elementary school regarding playing a tromone, let alone even owning one, it wouldn't fit with the Transformers' tones.
But I know there's got to be someone out there who can rock it...perhaps you?
Thoughts? Feesibility? Modifications?
Staff, feel free to chime in on logistics, cost, scheduling, etc as well.
NOTE: This is just an idea. Some other convention apparently has a Hall of Fame thing, and a special dinner. I just thought maybe to be different, we have a concert of some kind. Nor is this a subtle suggestion to get Stan Bush to TFCon, this is something to add to make TFCon better.
